Three short stories for children about India.
Description
These stories begin with information about India for the teacher. The listed census is from 1984. The book has forty-six pages. Each story has a Bible verse to memorize.
The three themes are:
- Shanti – An Indian girl causes much trouble until she becomes a believer in Jesus. The need for salvation is explained. The Bible verse for this story is Isaiah 53:6.
- Premi – A sick girl runs away from home. She wants to find healing and new life in Jesus. Christian growth is explained. The Bible verse for this story is Romans 8:28.
- RamJi – A boy overcomes all obstacles to fulfill his desire to serve Jesus. Christian service is the theme. The Bible verse for this story is Matthew 28:19,20.
Considerations
- The pictures culturally correct..
- All the pictures show village life in India.
- Pictures are colored and black and gray.
- The book has forty-six pictures. They are 10"x13".
- There are ten pictures for the first story.
- There are thirteen pictures for the second story.
- There are fifteen pictures for the third story.
Limitations
- These stories are written for children who own Bibles and can read them. For those who don't, the reader can read the Bible verse.
- Some pictures show only parts of people. This could confuse children who are not picture literate.
- Three pages are divided in half. Each of these pages has 2 pictures. This could confuse children who are not picture literate.
Guidelines for Use
- Appropriate for use with children 7 - 12 years old.
- Record on audio cassette or CD. Use these with flipchart pictures.
- Use as a children's radio story.
- Use in Sunday school, schools, Bible clubs, or camps.
