One-sentence summary

A translation for children with little Biblical knowledge to help teach them about children in other cultures.

Description

The Global Bible for Children was written so that children can learn about children in other cultures and countries. This translation used the Global Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the Bible. This translation was written for those with little or no knowledge of Biblical language. It includes over 300 pictures from seven continents and fifty countries. The pictures show cultural differences around the world.

A separate printing of the Gospel of John from The Global Bible for Children is also available.

Considerations

  • This CEV translation is an accurate translation of the original manuscripts.
  • This is a Bible translation where the meaning is translated rather than exact wording.
  • The Global Bible for Children is a picture journey around the world. It includes pictures of children, adults, places, and animals from many different cultures.
  • The text is written at a primary, grade-two level.
  • This Bible would be useful for readers who know English as a second language.

Limitations

Guidelines for Use

  • This Bible would be most useful if translated for people who are literate.
  • The additional charts, pictures, maps, and additional fact material would be confusing to non-literate people.
