Nomadic people have no permanent residence. Nomads are wandering, pastoral people who move from place to place, usually seasonally, and within a well-defined territory. They live in transportable shelters and carry all their possessions with them.

Internal Notes

July 6, 2005 mkb moved example from description to Internal Notes: Example nomadic group in East Africa

The language group is in a state of change with many traditional values being challenged. Key Factors for this example nomadic group:

  • There are only a few Christians.
  • There is little evangelism being done.
  • These nomadic, preliterate people need information vital to their health, their future, and their spiritual lives.

Goals for this example nomadic group:

  • To familiarize the hearers with the Old Testament as a bridge to the New Testament.
  • To motivate people to want to read and write by means of cassettes and accompanying booklets.
  • To further community development programs with instruction on animal care and health.
