Description

The Most Important Story Ever Told is a 32-page colorfully illustrated booklet, Video, or DVD. It is available in three different illustrated versions:

  • Cartoon version with Caucasian family
  • Cartoon version with African family
  • Classic/traditional artwork version

About forty percent of the text is Scripture under the following headings.

  • Creation – Adam and Eve
  • Adam and Eve Sin
  • Jesus is Born
  • Jesus the Teacher
  • Jesus the Healer
  • Jesus the Miracle Worker
  • Jesus and the Children
  • The Arrest of Jesus and His Trial
  • Jesus Dies on the Cross
  • Jesus is Alive
  • Where is Jesus Today?

In the booklet, a family read this story together. The father briefly explains how the Bible was written. The sentences are short and the language is simple.

Millions of free copies have been given away around the world. The booklet has been translated into more than 100 different languages. The web site lists these languages. It is also available on VHS or DVD or by Online Flash (animated version). Or you can watch and read it by downloading the FREE Acrobat Reader.

Considerations

With 40 million copies distributed around the world, this booklet is often the first time many children hear about Jesus.

  • The three formats used to present the book will make it easy to relate to different languages and ethnic groups.
  • The colors are bright and interesting.
  • The story moves between a modern family to sections where actual Bible stories are told and illustrated.
  • Bible references are given for each Bible story section.
  • Guidance is given for praying to become a follower of Jesus. Follow-up instructions are also given for those who have prayed the prayer.
  • Some close-up scenes and illustrations may cause confusion. They will need to be explained.
  • Colors of clothing may need to be changed if the colors are not culturally acceptable.
  • The animal shown in the section titled ‘Jesus the Miracle Worker’ is confusing. It has nothing to do with that part of the story.
  • Children who are not used to looking at pictures, will need help interpreting some of the illustrations.
  • Speech bubbles used with the comic-book style will need to be explained.
  • The illustration of Jesus ascending to heaven will need explanation.
  • The change of pictures between Bible times and the present may cause confusion.
  • The page that tells how to become a believer in Jesus shows the people as a bird would see them.
  • At the end children who place their faith and trust in Jesus are instructed to read their Bibles. Some languages have no written form of the Bible.
  • Other ways are used to teach about Jesus. One way is to listen to Bible stories on audio cassettes.
