Island

An island is a piece of land totally surrounded by water, in an ocean, sea, or lake.
Island weather is influenced by the water surrounding it, especially in oceans or seas.
Depending on their location, access to islands may be limited to air and/or water transportation. Islands can be fairly isolated because of this. Islands near a continent, however, may be accessible via bridges. Island economies are generally dependent to some extent on the surrounding ocean, and transport of materials from other places can be difficult and/or expensive.
