The book, Is God Really My Father, is written in Special English. It is an easy-to-read vocabulary of about 1,500 basic English words. Besides the limited vocabulary; Special English is written in:

- idioms are avoided
This is helpful to young readers and for those who speak English as a second language. It would also be good when translating from the English into another language.
The book helps the student learn why they are alive. It talks about the purpose of life. It shares the truth that God loves everyone. God has peace, hope, happiness and heaven ready for all who want them.
The book uses a chronological approach although it does not go into depth with most of the Old Testament.

Considerations
- There are times when words must be used which are not in the group of words that make up Special English. The meaning of these words is given in the glossary at the back of this book. When these words are used they have a special marking, a G.
- Each chapter has a colored picture to help tell the story.
- The book is also available in bilingual editions:

- Chinese/English
- Russian/English
A teacher's manual in Special English for Is God Really My Father is also available free of charge. You can download and print it off the Internet.
Limitations
- Some of the colored pictures show only parts of people or the setting. This will be confusing to people who are not picture literate.
Guidelines for Use
- This book will be useful in schools, in Sunday Schools, in Bible clubs and camps and for children' church.
- It might be used as an audio book and translated into other languages.
- It might be used as a flipchart book if the color pictures where made bigger.
- In partnership with Trans World Radio in Johannesburg, South Africa, this book has been recorded and dramatized for broadcast around the world. These programs are fifteen minutes long.
