One-sentence summary

A short story with one sentence in both English and Melanesian Tok Pisin for each picture and teaches about the evil one, Satan.

Description

This eight-page story has one sentence in English and one sentence in Melanesian Tok Pisin for each pictured page. The ninth page has a Biblical application comparing the hungry crocodile to Satan. The Bible describes Satan as a hungry lion wanting to devour us.

A crocodile explains the foods he enjoys eating. Those foods include fish, crabs, pig, turtles, and dog. The final page is a drawing of a crocodile with mouth wide open to eat YOU!

This story reminds us of something else. The evil one (Satan, sometimes called the devil) walks about like a roaring lion (or crocodile) searching for people he can lead the wrong way. Satan uses lies to lure people to do wrong things. “Satan is the Father of Lies”.

Satan loves to deceive us. He wants to fool us into believing the lies he tells. God's Message (the Bible) tells us “Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (eat up in a hungry, greedy way).
(1 Peter 5:8) God's Message

Considerations

  • This story is short and humorous but with the reminders, it can be a good object lesson.
