Foster local ownership

“Local ownership” is referring to people owning any of the components of service for them within their local environment and culture, including accompanying values, methods and technologies. This will most likely happen when we consider the worldview and environment of the people we are serving.

Local ownership usually generates pride of workmanship, enthusiasm and it promotes continuation of the work. Facilitating or encouraging local ownership means that we choose methods, technology and content that suit the local environment and culture, and that are relevant to the people we serve.
