Philip Young reported that GRN US’s digital vault is fully operational and all data cartridges are loaded on our computer servers. All of the data is not yet organized for the most efficient access, but our helping consultant Tim Young is working along with others (such as Keith Larson, our staff’s newest computer knowledgeable person) on the architectural strategy of the database and applications.
What this means without the technical jargon is that soon you may be able to sit at a computer anywhere in the world and easily get GRN audio recordings. Then you can listen immediately or make your own CD or tape copies. A computer café is soon going to be equipped in Sierra Leone. This is so that people can walk in and listen to evangelistic material in languages of that western African country.
Philip Young said, “This is prime time for digitizing!” We must get all the recordings into a more durable format NOW. Each year more of the original tapes deteriorate and become unusable.
