Description
Bible Lessons for Life's Battles is a 10” X 14” flipchart booklet for children. It has 40 pictures in two colors, plus black, white, and gray. The book is spiral-bound.
The five lessons are:
1. Satan and the First Battle – Eden (Genesis 1:1-3:24; Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28: 12-15; Romans 5:12-21)
- Aim of the lesson:
- To teach that Satan is a deadly enemy – God's enemy and our enemy.
2. Christ's Victorious Battle (Genesis 3; Matthew 27-28; Mark 15-16; Luke 23-24; John 19-21; Acts 1)
- Aim of the lesson:
- To teach that God's Son, Jesus, is greater than Satan. By his death, Jesus defeated Satan.
3. Confession, Forgiveness and Victory (Luke 15:11-32; 1 John 1:7-9)
- Aim of the lesson:
- To teach that those who believe in and follow Jesus must continue to confess sin as they become mature followers.
4. Protection for Life's Battles (1 Samuel 17:1-58; Judges 7:1-25; Ephesians 6:10-18; Romans 6:1-10)
- Aim of the lesson:
- To teach the effectiveness of the armor of a follower of Jesus. It allows them to stand firm against the temptations sent by Satan.
5. No More Battles (John 13:1-14:31; Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13; Luke 4:1-13: Mark 6:32-44; John 6: 1-14; 20:19-29)
- Aims of the lesson:
- To teach that even the strongest followers of Jesus are attacked (tempted) by Satan.
- To teach that a time is coming when Satan will be banished (sent away) forever!
Considerations
- The large size of this flipchart booklet will make it easy to share with large groups.
Limitations
- Some of the pictures show only parts of people or the scene. This may confuse listeners who are not picture literate.
- The Bible verses to remember are written in large print and will not be useful for any who cannot read.
Guidelines for Use
- These lessons would be useful in Sunday School, schools, Bible clubs, camps, and in children's church.
