Considerations
- Speakers suitable for desktop or for smaller rooms.
Evaluation
- Audioengine only produces smaller speakers, and they are very well built and have good sound quality. Although the units have a plastic-like lacquer finish, they have a wooden case underneath. Neither the low-end (3”) Kevlar speaker, nor the high-end silk (1”) speaker are guarded by grills, but both appear to be of durable enough material to take moderate abuse.
- Perhaps the most valuable specification to note for VMS personnel is that the power supply is 100~240 volts.
- For a comparison of three brands of computer speakers (Edirol MA-7A, Audioengine 2 , and Altec Lansing VS2420), see: Computer Speaker Comparison 1.
