Description
In African Adventures children will hear stories about lions, hyenas, crocodiles, and snakes. They also hear about the people who live and work among these animals.
The setting of these stories is a place in the northwest corner of Kenya. It is the land of the Turkana people. It is a land bordered by the Sudan and by Uganda.
These stories were told orally to the grandchildren of the author. He was a doctor to the Turkana. Each story describes the land and its people and animals. Each story has a Christian emphasis and a Scripture verse or story that make the lesson very real. Each short story also includes black and white drawings that do an excellent job of portraying the scene and setting.

Considerations
- These stories are best when told orally. A flipchart showing the sketches from the book would add interest for all children.
- Most stories contain object lessons that will be easily understood by the people of Africa.
- The end of the book has a short explanation about the doctor who wrote the stories. It also explains the importance of names for the Turkana people.
- The final page has a map of Kenya showing the area of the Turkana people. It also has a smaller outline map of Africa.

- The stories in this book might do well as radio dramas.
- They might also do well when presented in an audio cassette format.
